Getting Started & Accounts

What is RydaHub?

A peer-to-peer marketplace where car owners (Hosts) share their vehicles with verified renters (Guests) across the U.S.

How do I create an account?

Sign up with your email/phone, verify your identity, and add a payment or payout method. Guests can then book cars, and Hosts can list cars.

Is RydaHub available in my area?

Yes, RydaHub operates nationwide, but availability depends on local Hosts. Enter your city or ZIP to see listings near you.

Can international visitors use RydaHub?

Yes. You need a passport, a valid driver’s license recognized in the U.S., and a verified payment method. State-specific restrictions may apply.

Eligibility & Verification

What do I need to rent a car?

A valid driver’s license, a payment method, successful identity/driver screening, and you must meet age/state requirements.

What do I need to host a car?

A legally owned, well-maintained vehicle that meets RydaHub standards, current registration/inspection, and proof of compliance with your state.

What is the age requirement to rent a car?

Typically 21+; some states/vehicles require 25+. Under-25 renters may face restrictions or higher pricing. Always check the listing’s age rules.

How does verification work?

We check your identity and driving history and may run additional checks based on state/vehicle class. Upload clear documents and follow prompts in-app.

Booking & Pricing

How do I book a car?

Pick dates, choose a car, select a protection plan (optional if you already have coverage), and confirm payment. Some cars allow instant booking.

Are there extra fees?

Potential extras include young driver surcharges, late returns, extra mileage, cleaning or smoking violations, tolls, and tickets.

Are there extra fees I should know about?

Possible fees include young driver fees, late return, extra mileage, cleaning/smoking violations, tolls/tickets, and admin fees for claims. All are disclosed at checkout or in the listing.

Can I see the total price before I pay?

Yes—pricing, taxes, and estimated fees display at checkout before you confirm.

Can I extend or shorten my trip?

Request changes in the app. Extensions depend on availability and may adjust the price.

Payments, Deposits & Payouts

What payment methods are accepted?

Major credit/debit cards and select digital wallets. Prepaid cards are generally not accepted for verification holds.

Is there a security deposit or hold?

After trip completion, typically within 24–72 hours to the Host’s chosen payout method (processing times vary by bank).

When do Hosts get paid?

Hosts are paid within 24–72 hours after trip completion (bank processing times may vary).

Vehicles & Availability

What vehicles are allowed?

Most well-maintained cars with clean titles and up-to-date registration/inspection. Salvage, unsafe, or recalled vehicles are not allowed.

How is mileage handled?

Each listing shows mileage limits. Exceeding them triggers extra-mileage charges per the listing.

Can I request add-ons like car seats, ski racks, etc?

Some Hosts offer add-ons for a fee. Check the listing or message the Host.

Pickup, Use & Return

Where do pickup and return happen?

At the location set by the Host—home address, public spot, or delivery to airports/locations (fees may apply).

What should I do at pickup?

Verify identity, photograph the car (inside/out), note fuel and mileage, and review any accessories. Follow your in-app checklist.

What if I’ll be late?

Update the Host in-app. Late fees may apply if you return past the agreed time without an approved extension.

What’s the fuel policy?

Return at the same level you received it (unless the listing specifies otherwise). Shortfalls may incur refueling charges + admin fee.

Cancellations & No-Shows

Can I cancel a booking?

Yes—cancellation windows and refunds follow the Host's listing policy and timing. Review policy details at checkout.

What if the Guest doesn’t show?

Hosts should document and report a no-show in-app after the grace period. No-show penalties may apply to Guests.

What if the Host cancels?

You’ll be refunded and we’ll help you find a comparable car. Repeated Host cancellations may affect a Host’s standing.

Insurance, Accidents & Claims (Overview)

How does insurance work on RydaHub?

You may rely on your own coverage or select a RydaHub protection plan (Guest: Basic/Standard/Premium; Host: Essential/Enhanced/Premium). Plans include varying levels of liability, collision/theft, deductibles, and extras. (See the Insurance page for full terms.)

What if there’s an accident or emergency?

Ensure everyone’s safe, contact emergency services if needed, document photos, and report via the app within 24 hours. We’ll guide you through claims.

Are personal belongings covered?

Generally no. Consider your renters/homeowners insurance for personal items.

Fees & Policies (Fuel, Cleaning, Smoking, Tolls)

What is the cleaning policy?

Return the car reasonably clean. Excessive dirt, spills, or odors can incur a cleaning fee. Smoking/vaping is prohibited in most cars.

Can I smoke in the car?

Smoking/vaping is not allowed unless a listing explicitly permits it (rare). Violations can incur significant fees.

Who pays tolls and tickets?

Guests are responsible for tolls, parking tickets, and traffic violations during their trip. Some Hosts offer toll transponders—charges are billed after the trip.

Are pets allowed?

Check the listing. If allowed, return the car pet-hair/odor-free to avoid cleaning fees.

Safety, Security & Support

How does RydaHub protect users?

Identity/driver screening, secure payments, trip logs, photo documentation, and 24/7 incident support.

What if the car breaks down?

Contact the Host and our support immediately. Eligible plans include roadside assistance; we’ll coordinate help and adjust the booking if needed.

How do I contact support?

Use the in-app Help center for chat/call options and emergency contacts.

Guest-Focused (Quick Answers)

Can I use my own insurance instead of RydaHub's?

Yes, if your policy or credit card rental coverage applies. You’re responsible for confirming coverage and any deductibles.

Can someone else drive the car

Only approved additional drivers listed in the booking are covered.

Can I book last minute?

Many cars support instant booking—filter for “Instant Book.”

Host-Focused (Quick Answers)

How do I set pricing and rules?

In your Host dashboard—set base price, mileage limits, delivery options, cleaning/smoking rules, and deposits/holds where applicable.

What about wear-and-tear vs. damage?

Normal wear-and-tear is the Host’s responsibility; accidental damage during an active trip may be covered per plan terms.

How do I reduce risk?

Keep maintenance current, photograph pre/post trip, require verification, and choose an appropriate Host protection tier.

Privacy & Data

How is my data used?

We use your information to verify identity, enable bookings/payouts, and keep the platform safe. See our Privacy Policy for details and your choices.

Some vehicles may have telematics for safety and theft prevention, disclosed in the listing. Data use complies with applicable laws.

Accessibility

Do you support accessibility needs?

Yes—message the Host for accommodations (e.g., hand-control compatible vehicles) or contact support to help locate suitable listings.

Taxes & Receipts

How do I get receipts?

Guests can download invoices from trip history. Hosts can access payout statements from the dashboard.

Do Hosts need to report income?

Yes. Host earnings are taxable. RydaHub provides year-end forms (e.g., 1099-K). Consult a tax professional for details.

Tech & Troubleshooting

My verification upload failed—what do I do?

Check file clarity/size, switch to a stable network, or try again via desktop. If it persists, contact support.

Refresh the app, confirm email/phone verification, and check your bank processing times. Then reach out to support with your trip ID.
